Each year, Scarborough Arts has the privilege of working with communities, people, and organizations in Scarborough and the GTA to deliver partnered special projects as a part of our programming.

The work we do as an organization in our community is made possible not only by our team, but through the support and collaboration of community partners.

Through community partnerships Scarborough Arts is able to maintain it’s mandate of providing accessible programming, that suits the needs and interests of all our community members. Scarborough Arts special projects are ever-changing and are contingent on partnerships in our programming year.

The purpose of this page is to highlight ongoing special projects and partnered programming at Scarborough Arts.

If you are interested in partnering with Scarborough Arts, or finding our more information about our special and partnered projects, please email us at hello@scarborougharts.com.

Project Kids & Cameras

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

INTERSECTIONS: A Public Arts Workshop Series with Anthony Gebrihiwot

Scarborough Arts is honoured and excited to announce our partnership with Scarborough-based photographer, Anthony Gebrehiwot, in the public art workshop series, “Intersections” which is a City of Toronto Arts & Culture Signature Project.

“Intersections” is a 10-week public art workshop series exploring the ways in which our regional and geographical locations interact and intertwine with our social memory. Through group dialogue, community building, and asking thoughtful questions, participants will develop a critical lens that will contend against imperialist, patriarchal and predominantly white hegemonic notions/practices of gentrification through the medium of photography.
