Community+Connects: Drawing Connections this August

Join community artists and founders of the Scarbrite Collective, Frannie Potts & Sylvie Stojanovski, in bringing some hope, colour and positivity into your home + onto your street - making your mark on the collective consciousness.

In our upcoming Community+Connects workshop series, you’ll join people in your neighbourhood in spreading positive messages of hope through creating window art, painted rocks for your garden, and DIY postcards. This workshop series is perfect for crafters of any age and skill level!

Window Art: Tuesday, August 17 (5:00PM-6:30PM)
Learn how to turn your own positive messages into a window art installation for your home. In this hour and a half long workshop, we will brainstorm messages of hope which we will translate into symbols. The final product will uplift passerbys in your neighbourhood.

Painting Rocks for your Garden: Tuesday, August 24 (5:00PM-6:30PM)
Learn different acrylic painting techniques that you can use in designing your own rock of hope. We will brainstorm what brings us a sense of happiness and hope and then translate our ideas into imagery for our painted rocks. The final product can be placed in the new Scarborough Arts Butterfly Garden or in your own backyard.

DIY Postcards: Tuesday, August 17 (5:00PM-6:30PM)
Brighten someone’s day by mailing them a one-of-a-kind, Scarborough Bluffs inspired postcard! During this workshop, you’ll learn how to create your own realistic landscape drawing.
