Rooted to The Truth
I, like many, have been discovering my truth and needed to put onto canvas to quiet all the noise around me. Through the years of self-reflection, growth and resilience, this painting was born to share a story that I felt many could connect with in their own form.. Connecting a feeling of new growth, openness and diversity were the main characters. The rest lies within the viewer.
Your truth lies deep within you. Being true to that truth can be shaken as we navigate through the world
and the ever-changing conversations we have with others and within ourselves. In moments of unclarity,
doubt or discomfort, remember that truth and stay rooted.
The beautiful journey of becoming true to yourself and feeling rooted, is that is always evolving. We all have our distinct story to the road to discovery and where you are in your experience cannot be compared to any other’s.
This painting was a reaction to breaking through all the noise around me and us, to show that there is resilience in us all. May you connect any storyline you see on this painting and continue growing, rooted to the truth.

About Thiviyaa Sehasothy
Thiviyaa Sehasothy is a Tamil Toronto artist and painter with a passion for evoking emotion through her artwork. She has been featured in over 20 exhibits around Toronto, including Nuit Blanche. Additionally, her work was published in two art books and used in fashion and creative shoots in Ontario. Her abstract and landscape artworks are commissioned by corporate and private collectors across the world. Her paintings have bold & heavy brushstrokes, bright colours and are influenced by her experiences, travels, and the world around her. The artistic exchange between the outdoors and her canvas is very evident in her work. Thiviyaa's work ranges from landscape, abstract to portraiture. She is best known for her vibrant colours and texture acrylic and oil paintings. She is passionate about creating beautiful artwork for others and they are all an extension of who she is.
