This digital arts and new media-making program will run from January to May 2022, and will be led by Jega Delisca, with support from Peer Mentors Sky Ffrench and Kyana Graham. Participants will meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays to learn a variety of digital techniques including illustration, graphic design, gif & meme-making, and new media creating. Mental health, sexual health, and wellbeing professionals will also lead workshops and facilitation around sexual health and wellbeing during the program.
Each iteration of the Scarborough Arts EAST Youth program is focused on a different form of creative expression and this year, through System Update, we aim to: encourage healthy and innovative forms of self-expression for 2SLGBTQ+ youth in Scarborough; foster a sustainable, enriching relationship with a youth’s self and others; teach broadly based transferable life skills, inform about 2SLGBTQ+ specific sexual health and wellbeing, and provide new and engaging social experiences for participants by working closely in a group of youth with similar lived experiences.
