About Cooking Up Feminism!

In this newest iteration of Scarborough Arts Healthy Arts for Seniors Program, the intention of this 12-week workshop series is to foster a multicultural 'learn + share' social environment for BIPOC seniors in Scarborough, through culinary exploration, storytelling, and photography skill building, while honoring migrant lived experiences. Each of the workshops will involve two hour classes, once per week online, and will involve creative modules and learnings such as self portraiture, recipe sharing, cooking, and food photography. This workshop will also include two special guest facilitators who will lead classes on culturally specific food exploration, wellness, poetry, and healing.

The culminating activity of this program will be a digital blog and physical published book. These online and physical publications will be created to document this process as well as serve as a platform to archive recipes, along with photographs and stories that will be made accessible and and available to the public.
