About the workshop:
Capture stunning landscapes through paint and the power of your creation in this six-week, six-session, intensive gouache and painting workshop with artist Raoul Olou. Throughout this program, you will review and practice various technical aspects of gouache painting, including lighting, shape, value, etc. With a focus on landscapes and observational painting, these lessons will take place outdoors at Fools Paradise in Scarborough, Ontario. Fools Paradise is the historic and preserved home of the late Doris McCarthy and is currently an artist residency run by Ontario Heritage Trust. This location features stunning nature views and overlooks Lake Ontario along Toronto’s Scarborough Bluffs, and is the ideal location for creativity to flow!

This workshop is entirely in-person and will not be available via recording or online. Inclement weather workshops will be moved inside the building on-site. 

About the artist:
Raoul Olou is a multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto, whose work focuses on home, belonging and archiving the mundane. Recently, Olou was awarded the mayor purchased award from the City of Toronto, at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair. He also participated in charity auctions including Art with Heart to support HIV care.
