In food we find a space of togetherness. Recipes share the living history of culture, lineage, and family. It’s why Scarborough Arts is so excited to be sharing the launch of the Cultural Cookbook Project from the participants of our Healthy Arts for Seniors programming that took place from November 2019 to early February 2020 in collaboration with the CASSA and Toronto Arts Council at the East Scarborough Storefront.
Please join us as we celebrate the release of the Cultural Cookbook on Wednesday, June 23rd from 10am to 12pm on Zoom with our participants and community members. Access the Zoom at bit.ly/culturalcookbook, passcode: 2580
Maithily Uthayasangar will be joining the event as a program assistant and will be providing translation in Tamil.

About the Cultural Cookbook:
The Cultural Cookbook is an easy step-by-step recipe book that can be shared by participants and community members and will remain as a legacy piece of the program in both copy and digital form on the Scarborough Arts website. The Cultural Cookbook was produced by local Scarborough-based Anishinaabe/Metis artist, Fallon Simard, who in collaboration with Maithily, ensured the book reflected the lives and stories of the participants, while also being fully translated in Tamil (the primary language of all participants).
