Project Kids + Cameras

Project Kids + Cameras

From May to June 2023, The Project Kids & Cameras program joined photography educator Diana Nazareth and a group of awesome kids in a unique 7-week online program where they engaged in a series of photography-based activities exploring the theme of play.

By incorporating alternative methods of facilitation that centre play as a key aspect in learning, skill development and presentation, this program illustrates how artistic expression can be adapted to different learning styles and abilities.

This series is funded by Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Ethan invented a genre of photography where you hide a yellow car sponge in a photo of nature.

Can you find a way to hide a yellow sponge in these photos?

Scarlett: “I was trying to see the airplane going by but missed...then I found the moon was out during the day.”

Taylor enjoyed taking photos of her cousins and dog throughout this series.

Shyheim loves being a big brother, nature, and living in Scarborough.

Victoria’s photos include lots of colour and nature and even a little bit of animals. All her photos have a special name, like “The flying Mermaid” (photo 3).

Victoria: “The colours in my photos pop out and they make me happy.”
