Check out the Project Kids & Cameras Digital Gallery

From May to June 2021, The Project Kids & Cameras program joined photography educator Diana Nazareth and a group of awesome Scarborough-based kids in a unique 7-week online program where they engaged in a series of photography-based activities exploring the theme of play.

According to Nazareth, “Play is a key aspect in learning and each of our young participants were encouraged to use the theme of play as a creative constraint when taking photos of themselves, their family and friends, and in and around their neighbourhoods.”

The digital gallery is an archive of the incredible body of photography put forth by our young photographers across Scarborough. The participants were tasked with viewing life through new perspectives. Design elements like colour, texture, angles, and perspective are visible in the crop of triptychs (three images collaged by theme) that speak to the feeling of nature, childhood, and discovery. You can visit the digital gallery here.

A special thank you to sponsors of our Community+Connects program, the City of Toronto, Ontario Arts Council, Delta Bingo & Gaming, and Toronto Kiwanis.
