Toronto, Ontario (March 19th 2021) – After six months of consultation, Scarborough Arts is launching their brand new website this month. Scarborough Arts worked with local design firm, OmniWorx Inc., on the project to update and modernize their website as well as offer brand new features to their membership.

New features include: the ability for members to pay for their membership online with automatic renewals; an artist directory (coming soon); a job board; and new and improved accessibility features. The site also includes updated program information, news pages, and an event calendar.

“Scarborough Arts is excited to partner with OmniWorx Inc., and particularly, Jack Henry, to bring this new, improved and more accessible website to our stakeholders”, says Derek Spooner, Executive Director of Scarborough Arts. “The project is intended to provide increased functionality, user-friendliness and ease of access to key arts and cultural information for the public. The new website will better support the economic development and cultural growth of artists, members, organizations and grassroots collectives in our region. We look forward to continuing to work with the community to gather feedback and improve our digital presence”.

The website was designed to make it easier for Scarborough residents, artists and visitors to find and access information about Scarborough Arts programs, as well as Scarborough Arts Members who are interested in promotional opportunities and programs. It is also designed with accessibility in mind to ensure that everyone can access its information in an easy, user-friendly format. While the primary focus was to design the website in a way that was accessible for all, an app was added to the site that allows users to modify their experience in a way that suits their individual requirements. This includes the ability to change text size, background contrast, spacing, font type, and more. This will help ensure that anyone can access Scarborough Arts programs on any device.

“It was a very interesting project to be a part of.” said Jack Henry, Head of Design at OmniWorx Inc. and Provisional RGD member. “We received a high volume of passionate feedback from both staff and the Scarborough community on how the previous website could be improved. At OmniWorx Inc. we love working with clients and stakeholders who are so excited about what they do!” This project was completed as part of OmniWorx Inc’s, OmniWorx Cares program, where OmniWorx Inc. works with local grass-roots organizations to design anything from a flyer to a full brand program to an entire marketing initiative at a reduced rate.
