EAST Music Program: “Sister Sound System” Album Release + Virtual Listening Party
Sister Sound System is the culmination of Scarborough Arts’ EAST: Healthy Relationships Through Music 2019-20 program, which produced a 10-track compilation album by 10 young women of colour in Scarborough. The album is comprised of the participants of the EAST program led by powerhouse entertainer and entrepreneur, Dynesti. Sister Sound System was created to prove that when marginalized sisters are given the support and guidance they need, they can dominate our sound systems and inspire a positive shift of energy in every space they enter. Women are more powerful, more creative, and more resilient when they collaborate towards a common goal, and this album is a powerful testament to the power of comeraderie and leadership among women.
