Call For Artist Submissions: “All That is Golden”

Scarborough Arts invites artists from the Golden Mile to submit digital works dedicated to the area!

As a part of the City of Toronto's Cultural Hotspots programming 2022, Scarborough Arts is pleased to present our newest project, All That is Golden, a dedication to the Golden Mile in Scarborough!

All That Is Golden is a project led by Scarborough Arts in partnership with community partners that will involve the large-scale presentation of artists' work on the window fronts of local businesses in the Golden Mile in Scarborough. This project will prioritize installations (on storefront windows/businesses) in neighborhoods including:

- Bermondsey

- Clairlea

- Clairlea-Birchmount

- Ionview

- Parma Court

- Victoria Village

- Wexford

As the title indicates, this project plays on the concept that the Golden Mile - described as a barron, dull, big-box store, and industrial focused area - shines through the communities of people that make it a unique destination neighborhood in Toronto. Our project will highlight the art and public art, cultures, food, comforts, and services available in the region, and all necessary for the well-being of locals.

For this project Scarborough Arts is looking for artists specifically from the Golden Mile region, or who have ties to Scarborough and the Golden Mile who would like to produce digital works, or work that can be adapted to digital files, for large-scale vinyl installations on storefronts and local businesses dedicated to the area.

We thank everyone who applies with their interest in participating in this project. Only selected artists will be contacted for further booking. Click the button below to submit today!

*Deadline for submissions is Monday August 22nd, 2022 at 11:59pm.

Installation Dates: September 30th - October 30th 2022.

Artist Fee: $1000

*Artists chosen for participation will be contact by August 30th, 2022. Only artists chosen will be contacted via email.
