About Saira Ansari
Hailing from a multi-cultural family, Saira embodies diversity. She received a Distinction in Art in her GCE O'Levels from Cambridge University, UK and studied 4th Year Bachelor's level Fine Arts in Pakistan. Her career encompassed the roles of Visualizer and Creative Director in Advertising. She also worked in Educational Publishing where, besides rising to Director Editorial, she illustrated several books for the firm. As a cartoonist, Saira also contributed illustrations to a leading newspaper. In Toronto, Saira has worked extensively with marginalized communities. As a Diversity and Inclusion professional she worked within the community and environmental sectors to lead and support ground breaking projects and programs. She also designed trainings and sessions for boards and staff where she infused her Diversity workshops with her artistic skills. She recently led a three-day community art initiative for Jamii (Swahili for “community”), an arts organization in Toronto in partnership with Ontario Culture Days.
