THE MONARCH PROJECT
The Monarch Project 2009: The Bigger Picture
The Monarch Project was an interactive arts/environmental project intended to inspire youth from the Scarborough community.
In 2009, an Environmental Photomontage Project engaged with a group of youth between the ages of 13-20 from the Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Youth Drop-in Centre. Using their own original photographs from the Scarborough Bluffs area, participants created a photomontage installation that was focused upon their individually selected environmental concerns. This photomontage was included the collaborative project Manifesto Artmap 2009 (ward 36: Scarborough Southwest), and was given to councilor Brain Ashton upon conclusion of the exhibition
