DEADLINE EXTENDED: Monday, June 8, 2015 by 5 pm

Scarborough Arts is out and proud this June as we participate in the worldwide Pride festivities with Come OUT!

For the June Bluffs Gallery exhibition, Scarborough Arts is inviting queer-identified artists and allies to submit pieces that celebrate the LGBTTI2QQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transexual & Transgendered, Intersex, Two-Spirited, Queer & Questioning) community – its histories, cultures, idiosyncrasies, and diversities. We aim to present an inclusive, multi-media exhibition that represents the diverse experiences of the LGBTTI2QQ community, so we are open to submissions in various media, including but not limited to: two-dimensional work, sculpture, new media, installation, performance-based works, literary works and multi-media. Show us what it means to be OUT! and send us bold and out-there expressions of your creativity!

Call for Member Submissions: Bright Flight: An Exploration of Spring & Colour

Spring into action with Scarborough Arts!

As the season warms up and new life begins to sprout, Scarborough Arts aims to invigorate The Bluffs Gallery with a flourishing display of light and colour. And so, for our April exhibit, Scarborough Arts is inviting its members to submit visual and media arts pieces which illuminate the theme, Bright Flight: An Exploration of Spring and Colour. Members are asked to submit pieces which amplify the excitement of the spring season via colour, texture, and content. As we want to present an immersive, multi-media exhibition, submissions in all visual arts mediums are eligible. Send us your most brilliant and striking expressions of the spring season!

Who is YOUR “Unsung Shero”? Are there any amazing women in your life who have had a tremendous impact on who you are today? Is it your mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, teacher, or best friend? Is there someone who does not often get recognized for her contributions to the world around her?

In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2015, Scarborough Arts is pleased to recognize and celebrate the amazing women among us throughout the month of March with a series of events that are informative, motivational, and exciting, including a collection of literary pieces and visual artworks with the theme, “Unsung Sheroes.”

Commemorate! Black History Month: Call for Submissions — Deadline Extended!

The deadline has been extended to tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28 at noon!

This year for Black History Month, Scarborough Arts is asking you to Commemorate!

For our February Bluffs Gallery exhibition, members and non-members are invited to submit visual art pieces that commemorate and honour the legacy of black Canadians, past and present, the African Diaspora, and its culture and traditions. Submit and Commemorate! Black History Month with Scarborough Arts.

We want to present an immersive, multi-media exhibition and so submissions in all visual arts mediums are eligible. Send us the most imaginative and potent expressions of your culture!

EAST Arts Management Collective seeks applicants for its second year

Are you a young artist who wants to learn how to manage events and arts projects? Do you know any young people thinking of a career in the arts, or youth entrepreneurs looking to expand their networks in the arts industry?

EAST Arts Management Collective is a collaborative project for individuals aged 16-24 interested in project and event management, public relations, marketing and promotions, documentation, professional development, and entrepreneurship.

Under the guidance of the Scarborough Arts Manager – Youth Programs and industry professionals, and in collaboration with the EAST Music Collective, the Arts Management Collective will develop an organized project management strategy, build entrepreneurial networks, and identify specific project roles that correspond to industry careers.
