SSW has returned!

The fall 2013 term ended on a high note, and the new year has started off with a bang. SSW commenced with a full house, including both new and returning participants. The workshops have revealed powerful stories about family, friends, struggle, and accomplishments. The Kennedy/Eglinton Library continues to be the headquarters for the program’s activities, in collaboration with neighbouring Pro Tech Media Centre where the writers attend computer skills sessions.

Instructors Sarah Sheard and David Bester kicked off the new term with video presentations and an introduction into the world of social media and audio recording. Fall term participants have returned this year with their written submissions for the anthology, excited to see their stories in print at the end of the program. Everyone is eager to experiment with the new tools to connect with larger crowds and multiple generations.

Participants are exploring different genres and mediums of conveying their stories and intend to break new ground in the storytelling world.
