Scarborough Seniors Write Fall Wrap-Up
As Scarborough Seniors Write (SSW) wraps up its fall session, we reflect on the stories shared, milestones remembered, and memories chronicled during the hugely successful weekly writing sessions. This innovative program has garnered immense interest in the Scarborough community, with participants already gearing up for the next steps of their projects in 2014.
SSW provides opportunities for Scarborough’s seniors to fine-tune their writing skills and share their stories with a wider audience. This fall, the program has seen growing momentum in the participants’ ability and enthusiasm in the literary arts through their willingness to explore various genres and readiness to share with the group.
Starting January 9, 2014, instructors Sarah Sheard and David Bester will build on the writing skills developed over the past few months and focus on new methods to circulate these tales to a larger audience using social media platforms. Following discussions with the instructors, participants are already thinking about projects they will work on for the next few months, which will record stories important to their families, friends, and neighbours. Everyone is excited to see how the new year unfolds at SSW!
