FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 31, 2019. Scarborough, ON— Scarborough Arts is pleased to welcome our new Program Manager, Emily Peltier. Emily started her role at Scarborough Arts on September 17th, 2019. Emily brings a decade of experience in program development, curation, community arts, and arts activism. Emily is a fierce advocate for 2SLGBTQ+ communities and upholds this through her grassroots and community focused curatorial work. 

 

Emily’s experience includes working as an independent curator and writer. She is the co-creator and curator of the world’s first, and only, miniature 2SLGBTQ+ gallery and collective, Glory Hole Gallery. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from OCAD University and has curated and co-curated exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Blank Canvas Gallery, Critical Distance, The ArQuives, and community centers in Toronto. Her exhibitions have been featured in two consecutive Nuit Blanche Toronto events, as well as Nuit Rose. She is formerly the Curatorial Programs Coordinator at Critical Distance Centre for Curators.

As Program Manager at Scarborough Arts, Emily oversees all of our arts and community programming including SA Suites, EAST Youth Collective, Healthy Arts for Seniors, and The Scarborough Sign, among others.
