May = Asian Heritage Month
SA Behind the Scenes.
Ben here (SA Program Director), with the first ever post of what I’d like to call “SA Behind the Scenes”. There is always so much happening in-house that doesn’t necessarily make it out into the public eye.
Throughout May, it’s been like a bee-hive here! Amongst many other things, we’ve been working on a three-pronged celebration of diversity, during Asian Heritage Month. 1) We’ve produced three spectacular, intimate video profiles of select SA artist members. 2) We’ve worked on the translation and integration of useful Scarborough Arts info in 5 new languages, which we’ve incorporated onto our website. Check out the orange characters in the top right area of your screen. 3) We’re launching a print media ad campaign in four local ethnic media publications. We want to raise awareness of the work that we do, and also give people a glimpse into who our SA community is composed of, in 2012. Our goals for this project are to celebrate our members from the Asian Diaspora, while reaching out to new audiences, SA members and potential SA supporters. We’re going to launch all of these components in early June, so stay tuned. The videos are incredible!
