2013 Summer Changes

For the past nine years, Scarborough Arts has hosted “Art in the Park”, our annual outdoor Art Show & Sale at the Harrison Estate grounds.

As we continue to grow and develop as an organization, we are constantly searching for new partnership opportunities and fruitful collaborations.

It is with great enthusiasm that we announce a new partnership with the Midland Park Community Association which hosts Birkdale Art in the Park! With this new partnership, We will no longer be hosting Art in the Park here at Scarborough Arts, but joining our members and art community at the beautiful Birkdale parkland venue.

Together with the support and promotional assistance of Scarborough Arts, the Midland Park Community Association will present Birkdale Art in the Park, 2013.

If you are coming down to the Bluff’s gallery in the next couple weeks (including at our Holiday Dreams reception), please consider donating to our food drive.

The food donations will be given to the BBNC (Birchmount Bluffs Neighborhood Centre) for their Share Christmas Program. They are very excited that we will be helping them this year.

Here are some suggestions:
* Baby formula & food (and diapers?)
* Beans & lentils
* Canned fruits & vegetables
* Canned fish & meat
* Cans of soup or hearty stew
* Dried pasta & tomato sauce
* Macaroni & cheese
* Peanut butter
* Rice
* Canned, powdered or Tetra Pak cartons of milk

Here’s a great opportunity to pick up an incredible prize package, and support Scarborough Arts at the same time!

Aspiring Musicians will be interested in this $325 value, with a starting bid of only $40.    The package includes: a one year individual artist membership from the Canadian Artists’ Representation/le Front des artistes canadiens (CARFAC), and a $250 studio credit at Puppy Machine recording/production studio

Would make a great xmas gift!  Money raised will go towards supporting Scarborough Arts programming.

Holiday Dreams Exhibition

The Bluffs Gallery
November 2 – December 20, 2012

SA invites our member artists to contribute works of all styles & mediums.
Pieces must be original work and must reflect the theme of the holiday season.

• Please submit 1 or 2 pieces that have not previously been exhib ited at SA
• Artwork must be dropped off at The Bluffs Gallery, wired and re ady to hang
• Space is limited. W orks will be included on a first-come-first-served basis

• Drop-off period is Tuesday, October 16 – Tuesday, October 30, 2012
Hours of operation = Monday-Friday 9am-5pm & closed on weekends
• Work must be retrieved by January 25, or it will be considered a donation
• Work sold will be subject to a 20% commission.
