The Bluffs Gallery is open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In preparation for the launch of its second year, interviews for the EAST Music Collective took place over three weeks in October. We were thrilled to witness the talents and cultural wealth of our local youth, and would like to thank everyone for their interest in the program and for helping to spread the word about it.
After an intensive process of auditions and difficult decisions, our EAST panel was pleased to have settled on the group of young musicians and vocalists who will be offered a place in the program to form the 2013-14 Music Collective. On November 13, these young artists will receive their orientation to roll them into the new year of the EAST program.

The Scarborough Seniors Write (SSW) program is now fully underway! We’ve had several tremendous workshops so far, thanks to our incredible instructor David Bester and Scarborough’s amazing seniors. The Kennedy/Eglinton Library has been an fantastic partner, allowing us to use their space as the centre for the program activities.
Their meeting room has had a full house for the past few weeks, with writers sharing stories based on prompts provided by David during the classes. For one of the exercises, the participants were given the same challenge that Ernest Hemingway was rumoured to have been given by his peers: write a story in six words. Exercises like these have gotten the creative juices flowing! The talent we’ve seen so far promises very exciting finished work by the end of the program.

SA members—the Bluffs Gallery wants your wintry and holiday-themed artwork of all styles and mediums! Non-seasonal work is also welcome.
Drop-off period is Wednesday, November 6 through to Tuesday, November 12, during our hours of operation (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm).
You may submit up to 2 pieces that have not previously been exhibited at SA. Artwork must be dropped off at the Bluffs Gallery, wired and ready to hang. For non-hanging items such as jewellery, knitted goods, and pottery, you may submit up to 6 pieces.
Space is limited! Works will be included on a first come, first served basis.

EAST is a three-year project which plays host to a range of youth Collectives and acts as coordinator, mentor and facilitator to their creative projects.
EAST is presented by Scarborough Arts in collaboration with Agincourt Community Services, Boys and Girls of East Scarborough, Heart Beatz, Phase One Studios, JVS Toronto and Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre. EAST is generously supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Intact Financial Group and Toronto Community Foundation- Vital Youth.
