May 14 @ 18:00 – 20:30
EAST Professional Development Workshop: SOCAN @ Scarborough Civic Centre | Toronto | Ontario | Canada

Facilitated by: Yui Lau, Information Officer, SOCAN

Learn about SOCAN (the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) – a vital organization in Canada’s music industry – what they do as an organization and what they can do for you as a musician, producer, or music manager. This workshop will also help you understand your rights as an artist.

This workshop is part of EAST Collective’s Professional Development Workshop Series offered to youth aged 16 to 24 years old. Learn about the business side of being an artist; find out where you can access resources to plan, fund, promote and successfully execute your event or project; and network with arts management and music industry professionals. Check out the complete lineup of workshops here.

All workshops are free, and will take place at Scarborough Civic Centre, from 6 to 8:30 pm. For more information and to register to these workshops, contact Dania Ansari at 416-698-7322 or email east [at] scarborougharts [dot] com.
