EAST Professional Development Workshop: Marketing Your Brand @ Scarborough Civic Centre

What’s in a brand? You will learn about various marketing strategies that will allow you to effectively promote and/or sell your practice, craft, or brand. The workshop will also provide insight to arts managers on how to identify and craft a specific marketing strategy for someone else’s brand or creative practice.

With social media being the widespread mode of promotion nowadays, the workshop will additionally focus on social media etiquettes and on identifying how to leverage various social media outlets for a more impactful outcome.


This workshop is part of EAST Collective’s Professional Development Workshop Series offered to youth aged 16 to 24 years old. Learn about the business side of being an artist; find out where you can access resources to plan, fund, promote and successfully execute your event or project; and network with arts management and music industry professionals. Learn from the best at a special Lunch and Learn with local marketing and communications guru, Sue Edworthy. Sue has worked in the not-for-profit performing arts in various capacities for over fifteen years. Drawing from her expertise and experience as a respected and sought-after arts marketing professional, Sue will speak about how artists can position and promote their individual art practice, brand, or creative service; how to price their artwork or service; and how to use social media and digital technology effectively. This workshop is open to visual, media and performing artists in any stage of their career. A catered buffet lunch will be provided by JC’s Grill House. Registration for this event is required.

This exhibition is part of our April event series Bright Flight: An Exploration of Spring and Colour, an exciting and eclectic mix of events that celebrate our members and our anticipation of the spring season.

All month long, The Bluffs Gallery will host a series of free events, including visual arts exhibitions, an opening reception and open mic night, a lunch and learn, and a paint night. We hope to see you at one or all of these events!

Sensory @ Mod Club

Scarborough Arts member David Brandy is one of the RAW: Natural Born Artists, hand selected by the international independent arts organization, in the one night event “Sensory”. “Sensory” will showcase independent creatives in visual art, film, fashion, music, hair & makeup, photography, models and performing art.

Tickets for the event are $15 in advance and $20 at the door at the Mod Club (722 College St., Toronto). Event starts at 8:oo pm to 12:00 am.

*Event is 19+ and dress code is cocktail attire*
