SCARBOROUGH ARTS CALL FOR SUBMISSION – EGO (ANNUAL JURIED SHOW)
DEADLINE: June 25th 2012

Ego is a heavily laden term. We challenge you to react to this term, using it as a catalyst for the creation of your artwork.

Is ego a human phenomenon? Is the human ego an essential ingredient in the art making process? How does the ego fuel creation of artwork, and how does it manifest in your work? We leave the interpretation of this theme up to you, the artist.

There are two ways to submit:
1) You can submit online, at scarborougharts.com (your on it now!)
or
2) You can print the PDF, fill out and return a hard copy to us. A submission form is attached to this message, and can also be found on our website.

(Don’t procrastinate; submit early to avoid stressing yourself out….)

We are looking for submissions from two categories of people: 1) those who currently have or have survived a serious health issue and 2) those in their lives—

caregivers, families, significant others, friends, doctors, nurses, social workers, therapists, anyone who has experiences to share. From the person with the health issue we accept work on any subject, and are especially looking for work concerning aspects of living or surviving. From people in the person’s life we’d like writing about the person or your relationship with him or her.

We accept submissions year-round of previously unpublished* work. You can submit up to five poems or a short prose piece (max 1000 words) per edition.
