Presented by Scarborough Arts Council and hosted by Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre, the Monarch Project 2009 involved the creation of a photomontage project by local youth. The Monarch Project is an interactive art and environmental project that since its inception has visited communities across Scarborough.

For the 2009 project, youth participated in creating a photomontage for The Manifesto Festival’s Artmap 2009 project. Artmap 2009 consists of a map of Toronto that is separated by each ward. The youth of The Monarch Project worked on a wood piece (in the shape of Ward 36), created using photographs taken in the surrounding community. The final map of Toronto, including the piece created by the youth this summer, will be unveiled at City Hall at the Manifesto Festival.

I appreciate info on that. I wrote it off as just another cost, but I am about to look into it just as before.
